Why on earth would Janet Yellen and Merrick Garland both travel to Kyiv (in 2023}?

One possible reason is that both are Jewish, and Ukraine was for a long time where many Jews lived (the Pale of Settlement and all that).

Oh wait. Ukraine is now a vital U.S. strategic interest.
